JUST FOR A MOMENT …

January 28, 2023 by cynthiarogan 2 Comments

Whether we mean to or not, we make assumptions. I was in the middle of making a big dinner when I ran out of milk for one of the dishes. The convenience store a few blocks away was, of course, convenient, but the line was a mile long. I picked up the milk and took my place behind a tiny gray-haired woman in a tattered plaid coat. When it was her turn, she placed several cans of … [Read more...] about JUST FOR A MOMENT …

CRIME ABOUT IT! #1–Glenda the Bad Witch

July 12, 2022 by cynthiarogan Leave a Comment

Glenda’s name may have meant good and kind, but she was the supervisor from Hell. However, in an improv show, you work with others in the crew and the show is over within--say--two hours. In publishing, you're out there solo.  And … [Read more...] about Smiling in the face of fear

Weeds

June 23, 2012 by cynthiarogan 2 Comments

One glance at my garden used to leave me gnashing my teeth. Weeds were everywhere. If one of my plants wasn’t doing well, it was usually sharing its little plot of the world with a healthy green squatter. From experience, I can assure you that no amount of cursing will kill a weed. I have found no four-letter words that squash them into non-existence. Although some yield … [Read more...] about Weeds
